Nails Now!

Painting my nails has never been something that I've ever gotten into, the trends change so much and some of the nail art is crazy! Also my old job used to involve food handling so nail varnish was a big no no!

But now I have more freedom to play and experiment with my talons I thought I'd try and run a feature on my blog and do a new nail look for you every week.
It won't be anything fancy or over the top just a quick mani and a few thoughts on the products I used.
I'm planning to post these on a Monday, so the temptation to call it Manicure Monday was great, but that's a hashtag for twitter and I had to think of something else.
So to start us off on this here's this weeks attempt.
I haven't gone into any great technique with this one, just a coat of plain black varnish, Barry M to be precise, topped off with a coat of glitter to spice it up.
The glitter colour I've used is the Rimmel Precious Stones in Diamond Dust.
This polish is totally loaded with silver glitter! Sometimes a varnish like this can leave a lot to be desired in terms of how much glitter you actually get on your nail. But with just one coat your nail is totally covered, and there's no real need for another. However if you're not going to use a base colour underneath I would recommend using a few coats just to build it up abit more. Also this contains glitter specks of different sizes (rather than just having really small specks) so it gives a much more 3D and fancy finish.
With the glitter being silver, the light bounces off leaving you with multi-coloured shimmery nails and it's wonderful.
It's not often I've been let down by Rimmel with nail polish and this no exception. One of my favourite glitter polishes ever.

Well I've rambled on a lot. I don't think these features will be this long every week, but I hope you enjoy them! If you have any ideas for me, leave them in a comment!
