October Favorites.

Its that time already.
Its Monthly Favourites time!
Ive kept it to just my beauty faves this month, to keep it short and sweet. Ive also made it a little Halloween themed. It is October after all.

First up its a face base fave.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation. (Quite a mouthful!)

This is much like most of Rimmels foundations in texture and consistency, it feels very nice on and feels hydrating too. It has a slight dewy finish, but I use a matte powder over the top. I don't know if it actually does last 25 hours, as ive always taken my makeup off by then (whos awake for 25 hours?!) But I do doubt it unfortunetly. But its a great foundation at a great price, as always!

Now onto the eyes.

L'Oreal So Couture Super Liner.

Being honest, this wasnt something that i first picked up in Boots, i got it while they had a 3 for 2 offer on. I tend to stick to my liquid liners that i can get along with. However i gave it a shot and its the best one ive tried so far! It's inky black, that stays it doesnt fade throughout the day, it lasts well, and dries quickly! Plus the super fine nip makes cat eyes and thin lines easy. Im also a big fan of its packaging, I love its gold cap!

Next its the

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate.

I know I go on and on about the colour tattoos, but i love them SO much! They give such a finished look to your eyes, and make an amazing base colour for shadows too. This colour is perfect for autumn, as i talked about in my Autumn Post. (Here). Ive been wearing it alot this month as it seems to compliment everything so well and the colour is gorgeous!

A rediscovered favourite is

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara.

This used to be my go to mascara, but I sort of moved on, trying different ones. But having recently repurchased, ive fallen in love again. It makes such a difference to my lashes, giving length and volume. I also really like that it gives an intense black look so your lashes stand out more too!

My final beauty favourite this month is

MAC Lipstick in Touch.

This is a Lustre finish lipstick, which leaves your lips looking and feeling super moisturised. Its a lovely light brown, much like Velvet Teddy, for that must have Kylie Jenner look. Its a great shade to wear both day and night, would suit most skin tones and has good lasting power.

Not really a beauty favourite, but ive been loving these all month and only just get to use them at the end of it!

Its my Halloween candles! I grabbed them from B&M for £1.99 for 3, bargain!

Now I finally get to use them!

Halloween Makeup

Halloween is something i get overexcited about every year. I just love how everything gets a bit darker and spooky, plus all the Halloween sweets make me so happy.
The best part about Halloween has to be dressing up, its a great excuse to get creative and have fun, so of course i love experimenting with makeup looks.
Here's my favorites from this year.

Candy Skull.
This was my first look this year, so i started simple. Using just a white cream makeup base, a dark plum lipstick and black eyeshadow and liner. Many candy skull looks have a burst of colour to them, so thats a good way to change it up next time.

Lots of Fake Blood!

Here I went for a sort of dramatic zombie look, with fake blood around my mouth and added some under my eyes too. Plus large black eyes, and a pale face to add impact.

Creepy Doll.

One of my favourite Halloween costumes is a creepy doll. You can wear a pretty dress and still be scary! Here I used a really pale foundation to create a smooth complexion, then added bright pink blusher, eyeshadow and used a white cream shadow under my eyes to make them look bigger. Adding 'eyelashes', two lines to create a moving mouth look and some cracks using liquid liner

Zombie.

The look I'm proudest of is my zombie look.

I used white cream base (supermarket £1 one) and added grey shadow to hollow my cheeks, on my forehead and sides of my nose. I then used black shadow on my lids, and used a dark red/plum lip liner round the edges, smudging it out. I used black liquid liner to create a large, creepy mouth and then finished it off with fake blood.

Doing more adventurous and creative make up leads to ALOT of mess!!!

The Best Bath Bomb!

Now on my blog I like to keep it varied. I don't like posting about the same brand too often, or similar products or posts.
So when I posted my Lush Haul. (Read it here!) I thought I was all well and done for about another year, until next years good stuff comes out!
However I was dragged (haha!) in again with my Aunt after my haul was posted, and something caught my eye.

Its the Northern Lights Bath Bomb.
The main factor that grabbed my attention is that it's a long cylinder shaped bath bomb, instead of the traditional sphere, or novelty ones.
Plus it's bright purple, so a bit hard to miss, and it smells SO good!

Another good point of this for me is that it doesnt have any glitter hidden away in it. As it can irritate my skin, and cleaning out the bath is a pain!

It's so bright and strange that I HAD to try it!

As soon as it hits the water, it starts fizzing and turning your bath water a beautiful deep purple.

It soon releases a splash of red, and blue from the center.

Still plenty of purple to go through!!

It even has little stars in it!

Once you get closer to the core, the yellow starts to appear, along with alot more blue.

Finally you're left with a deep purple bath that smells amazing.

I was totally entranced by this bath bomb. It fizzes for ages, with so many different colours, it smells amazing and leaves your bath deep purple.

Along with the little stars inside, the colours make for a real fireworks show!

My Top Collection 2000 Picks.

One of my favourite drugstore makeup brands is Collection 2000, the quality of product compared to the price is amazing. And who isn't in love with the Lasting Perfection Concealer? A must have!
But there are some other gems to be found in the collection. (See what I did there?)

The Primed and Ready Primer.
This primer is silicone based, like the Benefit Porefessional, and offers a smoothing and lasting finish. It also claims to reduce the appearance of pores. While it does give a smoothed appearance and helps your makeup last longer, it doesn't quite have the same effect on reducing pores as the Benefit alternative. But at £5.99 (on offer at Boots for £3.99) who's going to complain? The quality is great for its price and you get a lot of product for the price to!

Extreme Felt Tip Liner.

If you're anything like me, you still struggle with that perfect cat eye flick, and using gel liners make me feel like I have 5 thumbs. This is just like using a felt tip and is super fast drying so no more smudging. It also lasts most of the day, not quite the 24 hour that it claims, but at £2.99 it's a great product!

Work The Colour Shadow Stick.

These are great little, easy to use shadow sticks. They come in 6 different shades, and are similar to the Rimmel ones. They have great pigmentation and are super soft on your eyelid. They are easily blended too, making a smokey eye quick and simple! However this does mean that they don't have the best staying power,but they are waterproof. They retail at £3.19 so you aren't breaking the bank with these!

Autumn Nails

As the nights get darker, and my wardrobe turns black, my nail colour also seems to change with the season.
Normally I wear bright colours, mainly Barry Ms pastels collection. But now I turn to darker, warmer colours and dare i say it, as Christmas comes, glittery reds become a must have!

I've been loving Barry M recently!

Barry M in Berry Cosmo

This is a perfect colour for the autumn season, its a dark purple/red. It compliments my autumn wardrobe so well, and works well with other varnish colours. Especially the Barry M in Chai, my favourite combo at the moment!

I dont normally wear greys on my nails, but something called me to this while in the shop, and ive been loving it ever since! Its a 'Gelly' formula so leaves a great shiny finish on your nails. Ive been wearing this paired with the Barry M in Berry Cosmo, for a great autmn combo.

Barry M in Black.

During the colder months everything gets darker, including my nails! So a plain black varnish you cant go wrong, i like to use this under a glitter polish for a more dressed up or party look.

Models Own in Amethyst.

I love this nail polish so much, i think the colour is extremely pretty and perfect for the darker months. It has a great amount of glitter in too so it gives a good coverage with one coat. Also the lid is covered in velvet so it feels so luxurious.

Maybelline ColourShow in Wine Shimmer.

This colour made me think of Christmas instantly. Its a deep red with coloured glitter, its so pretty. A great alternative to traditional red nails too.

I could go on forever about nail varnishes and my favourites, it was hard enough narrowing it down to these few! But this is my best picks for October and the colder months, plus with a a few parties coming up, a bit of glitter is never a miss!

Lush Haul

This seems like the staple blog post/video/ haul that EVERYONE does now, but i cant help myself.
I love Lush all year round as its so good for my skin, as well as smelling amazing, which is a pretty hard to find combination.
However the christmas collections make me super excited. I was drawn in a few years ago when i got a bottle of Snow Fairy for Christmas, and have loved everything ever since!
So when i went in the other day, i naturally got a few bits.

It feels like Christmas!

Butterball,

I absolutely love this bath bomb so much. It is so hydrating and leaves your skin feeling super soft and smooth. I also love the smell, its so calming and perfect for a bedtime bath.

Christmas Eve.

I dont know why they keep this bubble bar just for Christmas. Id love to have it all year round! Its so cute to look at and gives great blue bubbles to your bath, Im

Cinders.

This bath bomb has popping candy in, so when you add it to your bath it pops and fizzes and turns your bath a lovely warm yellow. As well as having a great fruity scent.

The Comforter.

This bright bubble bar is a year round staple in Lush but is one of my favourites. It smells amazing, almost like Snow Fairy, turns your bubbles pink and because its so large it lasts ages!

Luxury Lush Pud.

This is like the ultimate bath bomb! Its huge, insanely bright and has so many colours. When you pop it in the bath, it puts on a show. Plus it smells so good, and is Christmas themed. It does however leave pink dust EVERYWHERE!

There are so many more Christmas and other holiday themed products in Lush at the moment (including the Pumpkin bubble bar that was sold out!) I couldnt get them all, so i picked up my firm favourites, and am looking forward to lots of colourful, lovely smelling baths.
