Top 5 Drugstore Lipsticks

While I'm not a huge fan of wearing lipstick everyday (I can leave the house without it!) I do enjoy applying a bit every now and again, especially if it's for a special occasion.
Now none of these products are anywhere near new to the market, and you've probably heard, seen or tried most of them. But they have been used over and over so I can safely say that they are my go to lipsticks, and in my opinion, pretty damn good.
First are two shades from Kate Moss' collection for Rimmel. Shade 20 is a bright pink colour, which I love to wear in the spring and summer months. It's so bright and girly, it goes perfectly with pretty summer dresses and floral patterns.

Shade 22 is my favourite red lipstick (with the exception of the amazing MAC Russian Red). It's the perfect bold and vibrant red shade, that is exactly what I want with a bold red lip. Both of these products have the same hydrating formula, which is great news as I sometimes find lipstick to be drying on my lips. They also have amazing pigmentation and staying power, so you're not always looking in the mirror for a touch up!

Next is from Collection in the shade Scorned. I originally picked this up for a Halloween look, but ended up falling in love with it. Its a great deep berry shade which is perfect for the autumn and colder months. It doesn't have quite the same hydrating effect as the Rimmel shades, but £3 I'm not going to complain!

Infrared by Topshop has been a favourite of mine from the moment I picked it up. Its an orange toned shade, which is perfect for adding a dash of colour to a more neutral look, without going overboard! It has amazing staying power, and is hydrating to apply too. I feel Topshop have done a great job with their lipstick collection, whichever shade you choose!

My final pick is technically more of a lip butter, but I love it so much. It's the Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake. It's such a girly pink colour that's perfect for everyday wear. I love to wear this during the summer months and on bright sunny days. As the name gives away, it's super hydrating and feels great to apply. The range are also really pigmented, but that's more obvious with a brighter shade.

So those are my top 5 picks from the drugstore for lipsticks. As I'm not a massive fan of everyday wear, these are all quite bright so they make an impression and make you feel a little more 'dressed up'.

  2. Hi HayleyLoui! I created a website called dobundle.com. It allows you to pair images with a group of online products. For example you can take the image if all the lipsticks you have up there, and then link it to all the lipsticks you're reviewing. We created it for people like you, so it would be awesome if you try it out and let me know what you think :)

On another note, I recently bought the Lancome "Rouge IN LOVE" lipstick and I can say that like the name, i'm in love. It's very close to my natural lip color but makes me look a bit more fresh. The Infrared lipstick looks interesting. I have olive skin I'm not sure if it's gonna look as good on me... but might try it this weekend.
