2013 favorites

2013 is over! Already! I've been meaning to write a monthly favorites post for ages and every time I get round to it, I might as well wait for next month!

So why not start 2014 with all my favourites from the last year!
First up is:
Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation.

I fell in love with this foundation over the last few months, I have really dry skin on my face and it can often look quite red with it. However this completely covets over this and leaves me with a fresh, healthy glow. The coverage can be built up as much as you like, but with a dash of concealer and some powder, you're all set!

Carrying on with the face products, this already a firm favourite in the beauty blogging world, so comes as no surprise:
Collection, Lasting Perfection Concealer.

I'd heard big things about this concealer, so I decided that I'd give it a go. I'd never really had any success with concealers, they never made much of a difference. But this concealer is amazing, any blemish, redness, spot is covered and it blends so well and easily. This concealer works so well that if you're having a good skin day, just to cover any little blemishes and that's all you need some days! There is no concealer I've tried that comes close to this.

Another favourite with the beauty bloggers this year and with me has been the
Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos
I loved these so much as they're so easy to throw on your eyes on their own, or as a base for shadow, and they stay on all day and look great. Using them as a base leaves my eye shadow staying put all day, with no signs of creasing which is a big plus point! The Eternal Gold color I found to look amazing with big cat eye flicks and the On And On Bronze makes a great base for a darker smokey eye look.

Another great eye product i loved during 2013 was the:
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Sticks

Now these are very similar to the Maybelline tattoos, just as a handy pencil, which makes them perfect for popping in your travel makeup kit, or your handbag. They also have a shimmer finish to them, which makes them great for a little more fancy look. However they don't last as long as the Maybelline alternatives and don't have quite the same professional finish about them. Still a big fave though!

Moving on to mascaras of 2013 now, and one that has been a great favourite through most of the year has been my:
Revlon Lash Potion Mascara.

I picked this up, mainly because of its packaging, and nothing else. It just looks so good! Now as for the actual product, it actually works really well. I was a bit afraid of it being all packaging and no substance. However not the case! You can actually tell that lengthening effect of the lashes and it also leaves the lashes really dark and noticeable. I love my lashes to look as dark as possible, its just a personal preference. I wasn't completely wowed by the wand though, its plastic and a bit clumsy with it (or maybe that's just me). Its also not the best at being clump resistant either to be honest. But at the price i picked it up at, I think Superdrug had a sale, i cant complain, and its been a trusty one through the year.

Another mascara I've been loving, and i admit i only got it at Christmas, but its not left my eyes since. Is the
Benefit They're Real Mascara

I'll be doing a full blog post on this soon i think, as i have quite a bit to say about this product. However all i'll say for now is that, the difference this mascara makes to your lashes is incredible. Id heard a lot about this product and wasn't sure i believed all of it, but since receiving Benefit gift set for Christmas, i think I'm  a convert. This makes your lashes so dark and thick, as well as lengthening them and making your eyes totally stand out. I think I've found my new favourite mascara.

Throughout most of 2013 I've had one trusty eyeliner in my makeup bag, which is strange as i usually settle on a couple, but for now its been all about
Topshops Magic Liner

I love this eyeliner because of its super fine nib, so it gives more control over the thickness of your eyeliner. Cause we don't always want panda eyes. Also its super black, which some liquid liners which come as a felt pen don't always end up as opaque as i want them to be. It lasts most of the day, as long as you don't rub it or get it super wet, so the staying power could be better, but its not that much of an issue. I absolutely love Topshop's makeup packaging and this is no exception its super cute, and simple, and it just looks really nice when its in your bag.

Finally 2013 hasn't been a big year in lip products for me, there's been a few products that I've liked, but none have really stayed with me for very long. So i cant feel that i have any lip favorites from 2013.

So that's all my favourite makeup products from 2013, there have been many many more products I've loved over the year, but I've tried to keep it short and sweet. Hopefully 2014 brings many exciting products to try!
Whats been your favourite product of the last year?
